DUSHANBE, January 8, Asia-Plus  — The limited liability company Gazpromneft-Tajikistan, which is subsidiary of Russia’s state-controlled gas company Gazprom, intends to construct seven refuel stations and one petroleum storage depot in Tajikistan this year, Asia-Plus has learned from the Gazpromneft-Tajikistan top manager Farhod Mirzoyev.

According to him, the fuel stations will be built in Shahrinav, Tursunzoda, Hissor, Yovon and Rudaki districts and the petroleum storage depot will be constructed in Dushanbe.

“In all, our company plans to have constructed 25 refuel stations and four petroleum storage depots in Tajikistan by 2011,” Mirzoyev said, noting that $3.5 million will be invested in implementation of those projects.

In the meantime, the company has some problems with allotment of places for construction of the refuel stations.  “Local authorities in some districts, including Tursunzoda, Hissor and Yovon, are reluctantly agreeing with proposals of our company, justifying it by saying that they have enough refuel stations,” Mirzoyev said.

Gazpromneft-Tajikistan now takes four petroleum storage depots in the country on lease for realizing products of the Omsk oil refinery.
