DUSHANBE, January 28, Asia-Plus  — Russia’s Vim-Avia  Airlines has received license from Tajikistan to operate regular flights from Ufa, the capital of Russia’s Bashkortostan Republic, to Dushanbe, Nematullo Sohibov, head of the civil aviation directorate of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC), said. 

According to him, the Russian air company will utilize Boeing 757 to operate flights to Tajikistan.  “The flights will be operated on Fridays starting from February,” the MoTC official said, noting that fares on this route will be set in accordance with passenger traffic and seasonal demand for the route.

(kp.ru) says that minimal tariff for this route (without fuel duty and form duty) will be 6,755 Russian rubles (equivalent to some $270).  

We will recall that an agreement between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation on aerial communication was signed on September 12, 1997, and Tajik national air carriers TajikAir operated flights to Ufa in the late 1990s, but later, the flight Dushanbe-Ufa was suspended.  

Vim-Avia Airlines obtained its license for cargo and passenger air transport operations on November 27, 2003.  Its base airport is Domodedovo International Airport, Moscow.  The company carries out passenger operations – regular and charter flights. Most popular destinations for charter flights are Turkey, Tunis, Egypt, and Western Europe.  The company is expected to expand into the Russian domestic market in course of development of its aircraft fleet.
