DUSHANBE, March 15, Asia-Plus  — By capital mayor’s resolution the Dushanbe park design competition has been announced.  

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that the new park will spread over the area of 15 hectares on the right bank of Dushanbe River – from the confluence of the rivers Dushanbe and Luchob to the Karamov Street.  

According to him, the mayor has already endorsed a concept under which the new park will be provided with recreation and entertainment areas for children (some 30%-40% of the park’s territory), recreation and entertainment areas for adults (60%-70% of the park’s territory), sports grounds, ponds and fountains. 

The results of the competition will be summed up on April 30 and the competition winner will be given 5,000 somonis in prize money, the spokesman said.
