DUSHANBE, March 15, Asia-Plus  — Health Minister Nusratullo Salimov on March 14 held a meeting with participation of senior representatives from the Ministry of Health (MoH) to discuss the TB situation in the country.  

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Oktam Bobokhojayev, the head of the MoH medical services directorate, said that the meeting had focused on difference between the real number of TB sufferers in the country and the official data.        

The minister urged to carry out a mass examination of the population in some districts to define the real number of TB sufferers.  Such an examination is currently under way in Khatlon’s Vose district.  The examinations are supposed to be selectively carried out in Hissor and Vahdat districts and in the Sughd province.
