DUSHANBE, March 17, Asia-Plus  — A large-scale medical examination of the population of Khatlon’s Vose district for TB is still going on, Oktam Bobokhojayev, the head of the medical services directorate within the Ministry of Heath (MoH), said.

According to him, a special group led by the Republican TB-Prevention Center head Sadullo Saidaliyev is currently working in the district.  They have already collected primary data that will be analyzed and the survey will be submitted for consideration to the ministry, the MoH official said.

The survey’s results will become known by the end of March and be published in media, Bobokhojayev said.

We will recall that speaking at a March 14 meeting with participation of senior representatives from a MoH, Health Minister Nusratullo Salimov urged to carry out a mass examination of the population in some districts to define the real number of TB sufferers.  Such an examination is currently under way in Khatlon’s Vose district.

The examinations are supposed to be selectively carried out in Hissor and Vahdat districts and in the Sughd province.
