DUSHANBE, April 14, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon is receiving visiting Minister of State at Germany’s Federal Foreign Office Gernot Erler today afternoon, presidential press service said. 

The two are supposed to discuss issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of political and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany. 

According to the German Embassy in Dushanbe, Mr. Gernot Erler, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, and Ms. Hedi Wegener, Chair of the German-Central Asian Parliamentary Group in the Bundestag, arrived in Tajikistan for a two-day visit.  

During their stay in Dushanbe, the German officials are also scheduled to hold talks with Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi.  The talks will focus on implementation of the European Union strategy for Central Asia. 

Representatives from German business community, representing energy, banking and mechanical engineering sector, are accompanying Mr. Erler and Ms. Wegener on the visit to Tajikistan.
