DUSHANBE, April 25, Asia-Plus — Barqi Tojik (Tajik electric systems) power holding is on the list of companies subject to restructuring and the government is currently considering the issue of partitioning Barqi Tojik into several components, Farrukh Hamraliyev, the head of the State Committee for Investments and Management of State-owned Property, said.
According to him, power grids will function separately from Barqi Tojik and enterprises for selling electrical power will be set up.
He further added that they are currently solving gradual electricity price increases issues in order to make power plants and electricity-transmission lines cost-effective.
