DUSHANBE, April 25, Asia-Plus  — Tajik law-enforcement authorities have seized more than 1,688 kilograms of narcotics in the first three months of this year, Asia-Plus has learned at the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

The totaled included 774 kilograms of raw opium, 417.9 kilograms of heroin and some 496.8 kilograms of cannabis. 

Of the total amount, 660 kilograms of drugs, including more than 241 kilograms of heroin, some 169 kilograms of raw opium and 249.4 kilograms of cannabis, have been intercepted by the MoI officers.  

We will recall that over the first four months of 2007, the country’s law enforcement agencies had intercepted 1,690 kilograms of narcotics
