DUSHANBE, April 26, Asia-Plus — Net profit of open joint-stock company (OJSC) Orienbonk, Tajikistan’s largest commercial bank, doubled in the year April 1, 2008, reaching 6,291,900 somonis (equivalent to more than $1.8 million), according to Orienbonk’s head office in Dushanbe.    

Over the first three months of this year, the bank’s authorized capital stock has increased from 133,232,200 somonis ($33 million) to 147,923,400 somonis ($43.1 million).  As of April 1, 2007, Orienbonk’s authorized capital had amounted to 40,726,800 somonis (equivalent 11.8 million).    

Over the report period, the bank’s loan portfolio has increased by 74.2 million somonis ($21.6 million), reaching 594.4 million somonis ($173.2 million) as of April 1, 2008.
