DUSHANBE, April 28, Asia-Plus — An operation by officers from the counter narcotics agency on April 27 led to the arrest of drug pusher in Dushanbe.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Lieutenant Shukurjon Jumayev, an inspector with public relations department within the Drug Control Agency (DCA), said that the 71-year-old resident of Dushanbe had been detained on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking. 1.24 kilograms of drugs, mainly raw opium, were found in his house.
DCA has instituted criminal proceedings on the drug trafficking charge and an investigation is under way.
