DUSHANBE, June 23, 2008, Asia-Plus  – A two-day seminar formally titled “Dangerous Exogenous Geological Processes” opened in Dushanbe on June 23, Asia-Plus has learned at the main geology directorate under the government of Tajikistan.    

The seminar is considering the subjects: exogenous ecological processes in Tajikistan; new system of seismological monitoring in Tajikistan, exogenous geological processes and safety of hydropower facilities (Norak and Baypaza hydroelectric power stations).  

The seminar participants are also discussing issues related to monitoring landslide processes in the territory of the Gharm geodynamics training ground and exogenous processes on construction and rehabilitation of automotive roads.  

The seminar participants are also scheduled to visit the site of the Baypaza landslide.  

The seminar is expected to result in adoption of recommendations and a final protocol.
