DUSHANBE, June 30, 2008, Asia-Plus  — On Saturday June 28, Tajik cellular operator Babilon-Mobile, which accounts for 41 percent of mobile telecommunications services in Tajikistan, greeted its 800,000th client. 

The resident of the village of Chorcharogh Ilhom Saymuddinov has become the 800,00th client of Babilon-Mobile. 

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the Babilon-Mobile PR-manager Irina Vorobyova said that the company donated a car VAZ-2114 and 800,000 minutes to its 800,000th client.  Besides, Saymuddinov was also given presents provided by China’s company Huawie and content-provider Zervana.

We will recall that Babilon-Mobile greeted its 700,000th client in February this year.    

Commercially launched on January 1, 2003, Babilion-Mobile is licensed to provide cellular communication services in GSM 900/1800 and 3G-UMTS standards.  

According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC), eleven mobile providers now function in Tajikistan: MLT; Babilon-Mobile; Indigo-Tajikistan; Indigo-Somoncom; M-Teco; Beeline; Telecom Inc (SkyTel); TK-Mobile; and ATK Telecom Technology.
