DUSHANBE, June 30, 2008, Asia-Plus — Two residents of Sughd’s Jabborrasulov district were detained by officers from the Sughd counternarcotics directorate yesterday on suspicion of having been involved in drug pushing, press service of the Drug Control Agency (DCA) said.    

Two packages containing 2.21 kilograms of cannabis were confiscated from them.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against them on drug-trafficking charges and an investigation is under way.
