KHUJAND, July 5, Asia-Plus  — 40 train cars loaded with building materials have arrived in the settlement of Adrasman, which is subordinate  to the city of Qairoqqum, Sughd province, for construction of an ore-dressing plant at the limited liability company, Tajik-Chinese Mining Company.  

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the deputy Qairoqqum mayor, Khudoinazar Yuldoshev, said that they will lay the foundation of the plant for processing lead-zinc ore.  After that, they plan to deliver modules from China and assemble the plant, which will have the rated capacity of up to one million tons of ore per year. 

The plant is scheduled to be finished in September and it will manufacture the first product in October.  At first, it will process up to 300,000 tons of ore per year, according to Yuldoshev.  

More than 300 persons currently work with the enterprise.  At present they are mining ore at one of sections of the mine, for development of which Chinese company has license, the deputy mayor said.  

According to unofficial sources, the Chinese side is hurrying local authorities to speed up the solution of the issue of allotment of land for construction of the mining company’s infrastructure.
