DUSHANBE, July 17, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev has asked Tojikgaz (Tajik state natural-gas distributor) to speed up installation of new gas meters in Dushanbe.

Speaking at the 14th session of the Dushanbe legislature (Majlis) in Dushanbe on July 17, Ubaidulloyev noted that the number of IC card gas meters delivered to the country so far is not enough.

According to the Tojikgaz head Fathiddin Muhsiddinov, 1,700 IC card gas meters have been delivered to the country from China so far; of them 196 have been installed in Dushanbe’s Zarafshon-2 area.

The mayor demanded at the session that the pace of installation of the gas meters should be speeded up.

We will recall that a three-year loan agreement between Dushanbegaz and China’s Beijing Jinchuang Combines Gas Meter Co., LTD for delivery of 20,000 IC card gas meters to Tajikistan was signed in China on May 16, 2008.  Some 10,000 such gas meters are supposed to be installed in Dushanbe before the beginning of the heating season.

Beijing Jinchuang Combined Gas Meter Co., Ltd  is a large-scale company that specializes in gas meter equipment with 17 years of production experience, its products range consists of 3 products: Diaphragm-type gas meter, IC card intelligent gas meter, rotary meter and turbo-type gas meter with remote reading facility and which strictly comply with international production standard.
