KHOROG, July 19, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Today, President Emomali Rahmon, who is on his three-day visit to Gorno Badakhshan, visited Ishakshim and Roshtqala districts.

In the Ishkashim district, the president got acquainted with service and living conditions of one frontier posts of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) deployed in the district and a progress of development of 100 hectares of new lands in Ishkashim and breeding works on raising  new varieties of grains, potatoes and other agricultural crops.

After that, Emomali Rahmon met with residents of the Ishkashim administrative center.

Saturday afternoon, the president left Ishkashim for the Roshtqala district, where he inaugurated the new building of the Roshtqala education department and attended the groundbreaking ceremony for construction of a new building of Tajikistan’s savings bank, Amonatbonk, in district.

In the evening, President Rahmon will return to Khorog, where he will take part in a ceremony of reopening of the renovated central stadium of the city and attend cultural events.

Tomorrow, the head of state will familiarize himself with the pace of construction of the University of Central Asia (UCA) and attend an official commencement of construction of presidential lyceum in Khorog and official opening of the shopping center in the city.

On Sunday, the president will also preside over a meeting of local administrators in Khorog to discuss the region’s economic results in January-June 2008.

We will recall that president’s three-day working visit to Gorno Badakhshan started on Friday July 18.
