KHUJAND, July 22, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Business circles from Russia’s Far East federal district intend to set up the Association of Producers and Suppliers of Competitive Products in northern Tajikistan.  

Speaking in an interview with Aleksandr Yemelyanov, the head of the initiative group for establishment of the association, said that the association will be engaged in supply of goods of the Sughd producers to the Russian Far East region.

According to him, the association is established in accordance with targeted programs and national projects that are funded from the Russian national budget.

“Sughd enterprises such as limited liability company Textiles City, joint-stock companies (JSC) Sirandud, Zinnat, Pyafzoli Khujand (Khujand shoemaking factory), Khujand cannery, closed joint-stock company (CJSC) K-3, joint venture Khujand Packaging, and CJSC SATN have already signed the protocol of intent on joining the association,” said Yemelyanov, “A number of producers of agricultural goods from the Bobojonghafruov district also intend to join the organization.”

“Our region needs products manufactured by these enterprises.  The charter of the association has already been submitted for registration to the Sughd justice directorate,” the initiative group head said.
