DUSHANBE, July 23, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Inspection by the Agency of State Financial Control and Combating Corruption of activities of Dushanbe’s municipal waterworks, Dushanbevodokanal (DVK) has revealed a number of serious violations of tax code.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Sharifbek Sharifov, a spokesman for the anticorruption agency, said that form 2005 to 2007, the DVK chief accountant Avazkhon Qurbonov concealed actual incomes of the enterprise through drawing up forged documents.  As a result of that, the national budget had received some 750,000 somonis less over the report period.

During the inspection, 180,000 somonis of the mentioned amount have been reimbursed, the spokesman said.

According to him, illegal actions of the chief accountant are specified in Article 292 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – evading taxation or collection of taxes from juridical entity.
