KHUJAND, September 16, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Schools and preschool institutions in the northern Sughd province are continuing to stock in coals and firewood for the winter months.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Ms. Dilbar Ismoilova, deputy head of the Sughd education directorate, said that they have reached 75 percent of the coal-stocking target and 71.6 percent of the firewood-laying target by early September.  

             883 secondary schools and 167 kindergartens currently function in northern Tajikistan and their requirements in coals and firewood are 6,777 tons and 4,718 cubic meters respectively.
