DUSHANBE, September 30, Asia-Plus — The third parliamentary forum “Tajikistan-Russia: Potentials of Interregional Cooperation” will be held in Dushanbe in late October, according to an official website of the Council of Federation (Russia’s upper chamber of parliament).

The forum will be kicked off on October 23 and President Emomali Rahmon, Chairman of the Majlisi MiIlli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, and Chairman of the Council of Federation Sergey Mironov are expected to address the forum-opening ceremony. 

The forum is dedciated to discuss a broad range of issues related to expansion of partnership between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation and their regions, improvement of legal foundation of interregional cooperation, investment attractiveness, business environment, and increase in two-way trade between the two countries.  

The forum participants will include representatives of business circles as well as Tajik regions and Russian constituent territories.   

A series of roundtable are scheduled to take place on sidelines of the forum to discuss legal foundation, personnel training and labor migration regulation issues.  Days of the economies of Russian constituent territories, exhibition of Russian producers and presentation of investment projects in the Tajik Sughd province will also be held on sidelines of the forum.      

The forum is expected to result in signing of a number of cooperation documents.
