DUSHANBE, October 10, 2008 Asia-Plus — Second-year student from Tajik State Institute of Languages, Fotima Egamnazarova, has won the grand prize of an international contest dedicated to internationally known Kyrgyz author Chingiz Aitmatov, according to the Committee for Youth, Sports and tourism Affairs.
The source at the committee said, “Egamnazarova won in the nomination of literary genre as her essay was recognized as the best.”
The contest named after Chingiz Aitmatov was organized within the framework of Chingiz Aitmatov’s Year and it was attended by representatives of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia.
All interested people aged 14 to 25 could participate in the contest in the following nominations: cinema and TV; literary genre; musical composition and fine art. The final phase of the contest took place on October 7.
