DUSHANBE, October 16, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Over the first nine months of this year, the military board of the Supreme Court has considered 482 criminal proceedings instituted against military personnel and 586 servicemen have got different prison terms, the Supreme Court’s military board head Sayfullo Gadoyev told journalists today.  

According to him, most servicemen convicted this year were charged with desertion.  

In the meantime, speaking to reporters, first deputy head of the Supreme Court Naimjon Mulloyev noted that over the report period, the Supreme Court had considered 47 criminal proceedings instituted against 70 persons as court of first instance.  66 persons, including 2 women and minors, have been convicted, while cases of the remaining four persons have been remitted for further inquiry.
