DUSHANBE, November 7, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The CIS Interstate Committee for Statistics has ranked Tajikistan the last among the CIS states in terms of the industrial production growth rate.    

Over the first ten months of this year, the production volumes of industrial goods in Tajikistan have decreased by 2.5 percent, according to the CIS Interstate Committee for Statistics.   

Belarus with the industrial production growth rate of 13.1 percent has topped the CIS states over the report period and it has been followed by Uzbekistan (12.4 percent) and Azerbaijan (12 percent).

Kyrgyzstan with the industrial production growth rate of 8.6 percent has been ranked 4th and the Russian Federation (5.4 percent) has been ranked 5th. 

In Ukraine, the production volumes of industrial goods rose 5.1 percent in ten months to November 1, 2008, Armenia – 3.4 percent, Kazakhstan – 3 percent and Moldova – 2.8 percent.

The CIS average industrial production growth rate for January-September 2008 has been estimated at 6 percent.
