DUSHANBE, November 10, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The Ministry of Agriculture will start distribution of seed grains to faming units in Gorno Badakhshan within the next few days.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Narzullo Dadaboyev a spokesman for a MoA, said that the seed grains had been provided from the ministry’s reimbursement fund.  “This program is aimed at increases the volumes of high-yielding varieties of seed gains in the country,” Dadaboyev said.

According to him, 64.5 tons of high-yielding variety of wheat, purchased on November 3 from the agricultural production cooperative, Latif Murod, in the Hissor district, have been distributed to Bobojonghafurov (14 tons), Ghonchi (10 tons), Shahriston (10 tons), Ayni (11 tons), Panjakent (8 tons), Istaravshan (6 tons) and Tavildara (15 tons) and as well as the farming unit named after Gulmirzo (500 kilograms) in the Hissor district. 

In all, 95.5 tons of seed grains have been distributed to farming units across the country for the autumn sowing campaign, the spokesman said.  

1,332.2 tons of seeds of spring wheat have been distributed to farming units this year on condition that they will return 1,331.95 tons of seeds.  “The farming units have returned 532 tons of seeds to this date,” Dadaboyev noted.
