DUSHANBE, November 17, 2008, Asia-Plus –  10 new schools are expected to have been built in GBAO’s Vanj district by 2010, Muhabbatsho Ghayratov, the deputy chairman of the Vanj district told Pamir Media on November 17.  

“Construction of three schools has already begun and totaling 10 new schools are scheduled to be constructed in the district in the coming two years,” Ghayratov said.  

According to Sayod Immatshoyev of the GBAO capital construction directorate, the government has allocated 700,000 somoni for construction of school in the village of Matravn, Yazgulem Valley. 

318 secondary schools with totaling more than 45,000 pupils now function in Gorno Badakhshan.
