DUSHANBE, November 18, 2008, Asia-Plus  — A two-day integrated imitate exercise on avian influenza among animals and population was launched in Dushanbe today, Asia-Plus has learned from the Ministry of Health (MoH).

The main objective of the exercise is in improving preparedness and potential of the country for combating possible avian influenza outbreak, the MoH source said.  

The exercise is conducted by Tajikistan’s commission for combating avian influenza in cooperation with the World Health Organization and the UK Health Protection Agency.
