KULOB, November 20, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Five cotton-growing districts in Khatlon’s Kulob region have yielded 59,480 tons of raw cotton by November 19, which is 74.98 percent of the target.  The Kulob region has pledged to produce 79,350 tons of cotton this year.  

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Abdullo Rajabov, a lead specialist with the Kulob agriculture directorate, said that  cotton growers of the Danghara district had fulfilled their target and were continuing to gather cotton in addition to their obligation.

Cotton growers in the Kulob district have reached 96.67 percent of the target.  The Vose district has yielded 20,357 tons of cotton by Wednesday, while its target is 23,000 tons of raw cotton.
