KHOROG, November 27, 2008, Asia-Plus  — A residential building has been constructed for disabled couple of Broimov in the village of Turbat, GBAO’s Shugnan district due to support provided local authorities, international organizations and local residents.  The house was finished yesterday.    

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the Shugnan chairman Shamsiddin Orumbekov said that the district administration had allocated 2,000 somoni for housing and special account for providing assistance to the Broimov family had been opened at Agroinvestbonk’s branch in Khorog.

“After completion of the construction, more than 7,000 somoni have remained on the account,” the chairman, noting that local companies and some international organizations active in the region had also provided assistance.    

“International organization, Global Partner, has provided one ton of cement, 2 cubic meters of timber and 96 sheets of roofing iron,” said Orumbekov, “The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), the Pamir Energy Company (PamirEnergy) and a number of local enterprises have also provided assistance to build the house.”
