DUSHANBE, December 22, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) will attend the 6th Word Chambers Congress that will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from June 3-5 2009.  

According to the CCI press service, the CCI head Sharif Said has received invitation to attend the congress from Mr. Rona Yircalli, Chairman of the World Chambers Federation (WCF), and Mr. Po Kon Yong, President of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers.

Under the umbrella theme, “Leading Sustainable Growth and Change”, the Congress will address the major challenges businesses face today, including: the impact of globalization on small- and medium-sized enterprises, the economic implications of climate change, shifting corporate governance rules, empowering women in business, and developing young entrepreneurs.  The Congress is set to break new records in 2009 as more than 1,600 chamber leaders and senior executives from over 100 countries are expected to attend.

Three plenary sessions and 16 workshops will be held in Kuala Lumpur.  Influential world business leaders and experts will address several key issues, including the most pressing global challenges such as the food, water and energy crises, and the economic implications of climate change.

An exhibition will be organized on sidelines of the congress.  The exhibition area provides a central space where participants can showcase their products and services to decision-makers from all sectors and all regions of the world.

The 6th World Chambers Congress is organized by the International Chamber of Commerce’s World Chambers Federation, and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers.
