DUSHANBE, December 24, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Eight new apartment buildings will have been put into commission in Dushanbe by January 1, 2009, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to him, one five-storey and three 12-storey buildings at the Navbahor Street, two 9-storey buildings at the Jomi and Nemat Qaraboyev streets and two 5-storey buildings in Dushanbe’s Ispechak area will have been finished by January 1, 2009.

“Besides, major repairs to School # 54 in the Sino district and School # 5 in the Firdvasi district were completed on December 23,” the spokesman said.
