DUSHANBE, December 24, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Russia’s concern GAZ (motor works) yesterday shipped 20 buses to Dushanbe.

According to GAZ press service the remaining 130 buses will arrive in Dushanbe in January-February 2009.  An agreement on delivery of 150 buses PAZ 32054 to Dushanbe has been reached by GAZ and the Dushanbe mayor’s office within the framework of the program to renew Tajik capital’s bus fleet.  A total cost of the agreement is more than 4 million US dollars, the press service said.

We will recall that Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev on December 17 signed resolution on purchase of another consignment of busses and trolleybuses for the city.  Under this resolution the Dushanbe passenger transport services are to conclude contracts with Russia’s companies Trolza-Market and Russikiye Avtobusy on purchase of 60 trolleybuses and 150 busses.

The city budget allocates 17,618,970 somoni (equivalent to 5.1 million US dollars) for purchase of the trolleybuses and 14,125,991 somoni (equivalent to 4.087 million US dollars) for purchase of buses PAZ-32054 and spare parts for them.  75 of the buses will run on diesel fuel and the remaining 75 will run on liquefied gas.
