QURGHON TEPPA, December 29, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Resident of Khatlon’s Panj district has killed three children of his neighbor and then himself.

According to the Khatlon police directorate, the tragedy took place in the village of Somoni on December 26.

“The 49-year-old Mmarasoul Davronov burst into house of his neighbor Juma Hotamov, who is currently in the Russian Federation for seasonal work, and killed his three children – 13-year-old Fakhriddin, 10-year-old Shamsiddin and 8-year-old Zamira – with an axe,” said the source, “After that he returned home and inflicted several stab wounds on his wife Rajabgul Davronova and then killed himself.

The Panj prosecutor’s office has instituted criminal proceedings to investigate into this case.
