DUSHANBE, January 16, 2009, Asia-Plus  — In a report made at a government session, Labor Ministry Shukurjon Zhukov noted on January 15 that the ministry intends to offer more than 150,000 job vacancies this year.  He added 114,000 vacant jobs were offered last year.

According to the directorate for construction of government facilities within the President’s Executive Office, 7,435 builders will be needed this year for construction of the facilities this year.  Gorno Badakhshan alone will need more than 2,000 workers for construction of such facilities.

The agency for social protection, employment and migration within the Ministry of Labor said that as of December 31, 2008, there had been officially registered 62,100 job-seekers and 47,100 unemployed in the country.
