DUSHANBE, February 11, 2009, Asia-Plus — Tajik Legal Consortium (TLC) initiates nine strategic cases over disputes between entrepreneurs and state structures in the coming three months, the TLC head Rahmatillo Zoirov said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to him, each of these cases may create judicial precedent and have influence on policy of state structures regarding entrepreneurs.  “This policy is now extremely tough on a number of points.” The TLC head said.

Mr. Zoirov noted that the strategic cases were the cases of social significance that concerned the interests of many residents of the country and might draw a wide public response.

“These cases have long-term tasks,” said Rahmatillo Zoirov, “If entrepreneur wins the case, the state structures will take the court decision into consideration in similar situations in the future that will protect entrepreneurs from many unqualified claims.”

Four strategic cases will be considered by the Dushanbe economic court and five others will be considered by economic courts in Khujand and Istaravshan.

Tajik Legal Consortium will make available full legal support and represent entrepreneurs at courts, he said.
