DUSHANBE, February 20, 2009, Asia-Plus  — The Government of the Russia Federation has made a decision to increase flour supplies to Tajikistan, press service of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) reported, referring to the Russian Embassy in Dushanbe.

Russian Flour Mills’ Union will be engaged in shipment of flour to Tajikistan.  This organization is capable to supply up to 250,000 tons of flour to Tajikistan every year, the press service said.

In the meantime, Tajikistan’s annual requirements in grains are 1.260 tons.  We will recall that Tajikistan last year produced 943,000 tons of grains, including 649,300 tons of wheat, from 295,000 hectares.  This year, Tajik farmers plan to produce 1 million tons of grains.
