Over 1.188,2 billion soms were spent on social benefits in Kyrgyzstan in 2008, press service of the Kyrgyz Labor and Social Development Ministry reported.

Some 688.8 million soms were reportedly allocated for social discounts. “Besides, the largest amounts were spent on boarding schools’ maintenance -113.1 million and on social securities of the workers- 69.5 million,” the report said.

The total expenses hit 2.136, 5 billion soms, which is 100 percent of the approved estimates.
