KHUJAND, March 7, 2009, Asia-Plus  — The organization of the Social-Democratic Party (SDPT) in the Sughd province intends to use PR technologies in the forthcoming parliamentary elections due in February 2010, the chairperson of the SDPT for Sughd, Ms. Dilbar  Samadova, announced at a press conference in Khujand on March 6.

She noted that they were going to recruit PR-managers and volunteers that will be engaged in organization of propagation campaign.  “We will also enlist the services of image-makers for creation of positive image of our party,” Ms. Samadova said.

According to Alisher Okhounov of the NGO Fourth Power, the press conference was held for results of the project, Political PR for Political Parties, which was supported by the British Embassy in Dushanbe.  He noted that two-day training seminars as well as roundtable meetings to train representatives of political parties in working with media had been held in eight districts of the province.
