DUSHANBE, March 18, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Ways and measures to mitigate effects of the global financial crisis on Tajikistan were a major topic of a March 16 meeting of Finance Minister Safarali Najmuddinov with visiting mission of the World Bank, led by Sudarshan Canagarajah, Lead Economist, World Bank, according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF) Secretariat.

In the course of the talks, the sides exchanged views on the latest processes in the world and discussed experiences of other countries in developing anticrisis measures.

Najmuddinov expressed gratitude to the meeting participants and noted that at present, it was necessary to act together, resolutely and quickly in order mitigate effects of the global financial crisis on Tajikistan’s economy and society, the source at the MoF Secretariat said.
