DUSHANBE, March 20, 2009, Asia-Plus — Officers from the Interior Ministry department for combating drug trafficking (drug police) seized more than seven kilograms of hashish in Dushanbe on March 19, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

Hashish was confiscated from two residents of Dushanbe, the source at a MoI said.

The same day, officers from the GBAO counternarcotics directorate intercepted some three kilograms of heroin in Khorog.

It is to be noted that over the first two months of this year, Tajik law enforcement authorities have seized some 800 kilograms of narcotics.
