DUSHANBE, March 25, 2009, Asia-Plus — Tajik national air carrier, Tajik Air, has launched an air route from Qurghon Teppa, the capital of the Khatlon province to Moscow.
The first flight on this route was operated on March 20. “Boeing 737-200 with 116 passengers departed from Qurghon Teppa for Moscow at 10:30 am,” Ms. Nazira Davlatova, a spokeswoman for Tajik Air, said, noting that it is an once-week service. The flight is operated on Fridays.
According to her, Tajik national air carrier also launched air route from the southern city of Kulob to Moscow. The first flight on this route was also operated on March 20.
“The Kulob-Moscow flight is expected to be operated three times a week flights but the number of flights may be increased or reduced, depending on passenger traffic,” the spokeswoman said.
E will recall that before that, only Russia’s air company, Ural Airlines, was operating flights from Kulob to Moscow four times a week.
Davlatova also noted that Tajik Air was currently considering the issue of launching air cargo shipments on the routes from Qurghon Teppa and Kulob to Moscow.
