KHUJAND, March 26, 2009, Asia-Plus — The Khujand-based Tajik-Iranian joint venture, Nikou-Khujand (spinning mill), has completed installation of a part of equipment.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the Nikou-Khujand director Ismoil Qalandarov said that 18 hackles, 6 drawing frame machines and one pneumatic-spinning machine had been installed at the enterprise so far. “The remaining machines are expected to be delivered from Iran in the near future,” Qalandarov said, noting that all machines were manufactured in Germany and Japan.
According to him, they plan to upgrade the spinning factory to the enterprise for deep processing of cotton fiber and production of cotton clothes. “185 people will work with the enterprise,” the director said.
Nikou-Khujand was founded by Tajik closed joint-stock company (CJSC), Khujandinvestcotton, and Nikou-Nasj, which is part of Iran’s Nikou Group. The authorized capital of Nikou-Khujand is 8 million US dollars.
