DUSHANBE, March 30, 2009, Asia-Plus  — On Saturday March 28, an extraordinary congress of Tajikistan’s Red Crescent Society (RCS) was convened in Dushanbe to hear reports and elect new officials.

Ghiyosiddin Mirojev was elected as new president of RCS, replacing Nusratullo Fayzulloyev.  The first meeting of the new plenum of RCS that was held the same day elected Zaynuramo Odinayeva as the vise president of RCS and Zafar Muhabbatov was elected as the RCS secretary general.
