DUSHANBE, April 1, 2009, Asia-Plus  — On Tuesday March 31, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper house of parliament) Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev received Russian parliamentary delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Council of Federation (Russia’s upper chamber of parliament) also the head of the Business Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Dmitry Mezentsev.

The Tajik speaker aide Shavkat Saidov told Asia-Plus today that the sides discussed state and prospects of further cooperation between the parliaments of the of two countries as well as the outcomes of the third Tajik-Russian inter-parliament forum that was held last October in Tajikistan.

They also considered issues related to preparation of the next meeting of parliament heads of member nations of the SCO that will be held this year, the aide said.
