DUSHANBE, April 14, 2009, Asia-Plus — A two-day session of the CIS working group for cooperation in preventing intellectual property infringement is opening in Minsk, Belarus today.
According to press release issued by the CIS Executive Committee, members of the working group are sharing information about measures taken by their countries last year to ensure protection of the intellectual property rights. They are also discussing stages of coordination of the agreement on cooperation in organizing interstate exchange of information and formatting national database of copyright and allied rights.
The meeting participants are also expected to discuss establishment of an interstate council for legal protection of intellectual property. The council is dedicated to coordinate joint activities of the CIS states in this direction and create favorable conditions for innovative activity, industrial scientific, economic cooperation and development of mutual trade, the press service said.
