The first meeting of the interdepartmental working group for energy diplomacy was held in Ashgabat on 21 April.

The meeting was attended by senior management of the State agency on the use of hydrocarbon resources under the president of Turkmenistan, the ministry of foreign affairs and the ministry of oil and gas industry and mineral resources, the institute of strategic planning and economic development, the institute of oil and gas as well as the scientific-research institute of geological exploration. Turkmenistan”s ambassadors to Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russia also participated in the meeting.

The meeting discussed the tasks posed for the working group for the implementation of Turkmenistan”s energy strategy at the international arena and set forth priority plans for energy diplomacy.
