KHUJAND, April 27, 2009, Asia-Plus  — 53 corruption-related crimes have been detected in the Sughd province over the first three months of this year, the chief of Sughd anticorruption directorate Jumanazar Rahmatov announced at a news conference in Khujand on April 24.

According to him, 53 criminal proceedings have been instituted on embezzlement and misappropriation charges over the report period.

One officer from ministry of education, two from Barqi Tojik power holding, one from the ministry of agriculture, five bank employees and 23 officers from other structures have been involved in the corruption-related crimes detected in January-March this year, Rahmatov said.
