DUSHANBE, May 23, 2009 Asia-Plus  — The European Union (EU) — Regional Political Dialogue with Central Asia Troika Meeting will be held in Dushanbe from May 29-30, Davlat Nazriyev, the head of MFA information department, told reporters in Dushanbe on May 22.

According to him, the delegation of the European Union will arrive in Dushanbe on May 29 in the afternoon.

The same day the EU Troika will hold separate talks with delegations of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.

On May 30, the EU Troika will hold talks with Kazakhstan’s delegation.  The same day, a plenary meeting of the EU Troika and Central Asia will be held.  The EU Troika and the Central Asian foreign ministers will discuss cooperation between the European Union and Central Asia, implementation of the EU’s strategy fro Central Asia, including the updated document on national priorities and the plan of actions of the European Union and Central Asia to fight the spread of narcotics designed for 2009-2013, as well as a number of regional and international issues, the MFA spokesman said.

In the meantime, according to report posted on website of the Czech MFA, the President of the EU Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Kohout will chair the EU – Central Asia meeting in Dushanbe.
