DUSHANBE, May 28, 2009, Asia-Plus  — On Wednesday May 27, Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi received a delegation of ambassadors and other representatives of OSCE participating States led by the Chairperson of the Permanent Council, Greek Ambassador Mara Marinaki, according to the MFA information department.

The sides discussed a broad range of issues related to a fruitful cooperation between Tajikistan and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

Zarifi noted that OSCE has made significant contribution to strengthening of security and stability in Tajikistan over the past decade.

For her part, Ambassador Mara Marinaki noted that Tajikistan played a key role in strengthening stability within the OSCE area as a buffer zone.  She conveyed invitation to Zarifi from Greek Foreign Minister, Ms. Dora Bakayanis, to attend an informal meeting of the OSCE foreign ministers that will be held in Kofra from June 27-28.  The meeting will discuss issues related to new European security architecture.
