DUSHANBE, May 29, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Turkey is ready to participate in construction of small and medium-sized hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) in Tajikistan, visiting Turkish President Abdullah Gul told reporters in Dushanbe today.

According to him, issues of water use and hydropower engineering are common for Turkey and Tajikistan and his country was ready to expand cooperation with Tajikistan in that sphere.

Turkish leader noted that today he would attend the Tajik-Turkish business forum and would call on Turkish entrepreneurs to invest in development of Tajikistan’s energy sector.
