In the result of negotiations of Islam Karimov and President of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva a number of bilateral documents was signed.

Negotiations of Presidents of Brazil and Uzbekistan, held in frames of Karimov”s visit to Brazil, took place on May 28, President”s press service reported.

Presidents exchanged opinions on questions of Uzbek-Brazilian relations, problems of regional and international character representing common interests.

Sides discussed questions of Uzbek-Brazilian relations development, and exchanged opinions on problems of strengthening security in Central Asia, situation in Afghanistan, events taking place in Latin America. Presidents also discussed global financial and economic crisis, possibilities of reducing its influence, and mitigation measures.

In the result of negotiations Joint Declaration between Uzbekistan and Brazil was adopted.

Agreements between governments of two countries on technical, economic, commercial, and cultural cooperation, on visa-free regime for owners of diplomatic passports, on cooperation in the sphere of agriculture, and a memorandum on cooperation in the sphere of tourism were signed. A number of bilateral documents on cooperation between ministries and administrations of two countries were also signed.
